Why We Started Fuga

We’ve been there. The 5pm resize request that takes three hours. The campaign needing 200 variations by Monday. The brand update requiring 500 file changes. The existential dread that comes with realizing you’ve been manually adjusting rectangles for six hours straight.

Traditional tools treat design as data to manipulate. Stretch this, compress that, hope for the best. We knew there had to be a better approach. One that understood composition, respected creative decisions, and didn’t make designers question their life choices every Tuesday afternoon.

So we built it. Fuga combines automation with genuine understanding of design principles. We’re not trying to replace designers. We like you. We’re trying to free you from production work that keeps you from actually designing things.

Automation should amplify creative thinking, not replace it. Good tools respect the intelligence in design decisions and preserve it at scale. We're not building AI that designs better than humans. We're building tools that help humans design better. Big difference.

Production shouldn't limit creativity

The best ideas often die in production because they're too complicated or take too long to execute. That's backwards. Better tools mean more creative possibilities, not fewer. Your ideas shouldn't have to pass a "can we actually produce this?" feasibility test.

Designers deserve better software

Most creative tools are built for IT departments to buy, not for designers to use. We build for the people actually doing the work, with workflows that make sense to humans who think visually. If it takes a 40-page manual to explain, we've failed.

Designers know what makes good design. Our job is helping them scale that expertise, not building AI that thinks it knows better because it analyzed 10 million Pinterest boards. Algorithms are tools, not art directors.
We build based on real workflow challenges, not whatever's trending on Product Hunt this week. If it doesn't solve a genuine design production problem that keeps you at your desk past 6pm, it doesn't get built. Simple as that.
